Please Help this Doberman in Need - Warning, Graphic Images. Found emaciated with mange by Animal Control

He was found wrapped in a blanket in a parking lot somewhere in Atlanta and picked up by local animal control. Atlanta Doberman Pinscher Rescue stepped up and pulled him. He currently weighs 56 lbs and is extremely emaciated.

His current vet bill is at $220.00. ADPR will be covering his initial vet bill and Doberman Assistance Network will be taking over his care. As such, there is a strong plea from DAN for financial assistance for his care.

As you can imagine, his vet care will be expensive and lengthy. We ask for any tax-deductible contribution you can make as no amount is too little. If you wish to donate, you can do so here :: Help Rescue A Doberman

Per DAN: "Patricia Buchner :: His bill for tonight was estimated at 220.00...Atlanta Doberman rescue is covering that, then DAN will take over, you can donate to DAN and we will make sure Atlanta gets taken care of if they do not get enough donations for that.....or you can send to them directly....."

You can see further information about "Manny" on Facebook (if you subscribe) here :: https://www.facebook.com/groups/30799654796/

If you are a FB member, you can see a video of this poor boy - he looks dejected, scared and confused. Let's all pull together and save this sweet soul from any further suffering.

Rescued a Rabbit today

Well today while driving home I noticed a bunny in the middle of the road and being the animal lover that I am I pulled over to help him.  Sadly, living in the middle of nowhere and people around here eat rabbits means not a lot of people rehabilitate them.  By not a lot, I mean no one for about 2 hours.

He has no apparent external injuries but it appears that he may have been clipped or brushed by a car.  His legs do not appear to be broken but he is severely dehydrated so for now I am focusing on re hydrating him. Note: rabbits are very hard to rehab so I don't recommend that you try it.  I have rehabbed before and I have no other options for now, he is staying.

I honestly didn't think he would make it past an hour, but here he is 9 hours later and still around.  He was severely stiff, cold, and out of it when I picked him up.  It's morbid saying I thought he would die, but sometimes you have to be realistic.  He is a WILD rabbit so he will not be staying with me if he makes it. Help Illinois Doberman Rescue & Jane

Jane was adopted from Illinois Doberman Rescue and is now in need of serious medical attention after a reaction to a pain medication used during a spay.  IDR is helping to cover the cost of the bills, but it is a lot of money and they have other dogs that need help as well, so please consider donating to help.

From the IDR website:
Our feisty little plus pup Jane is in critical condition at our vet. Last week, she was spayed and adopted out to a wonderful family. On Friday, Jane licked out her spay stitches, stopped eating, and started vomiting and having diarrhea. Her new parents took her to their vet who put her on antibiotics, wrapped up her belly, and sent her home in a cone to avoid licking her spay incision. By Sunday morning, she was urinating blood clots, her gums went pale, and she crashed. She went to an emergency vet who determined she was having a rare and severe reaction to a pain med given at the time of her spay. The reaction was so severe, the vet wasn’t sure if she would survive the night. Her blood counts were very low, and her liver values were very high. When she was still alive Monday morning, we transferred her to our vet who is continuing to treat her. He gives her a 40% chance at the moment. Her foster moms have been at the vet at her side, and we are all pulling for her. The ER vet bill was almost $1,000 for the one day, and she will be at our vet for several days, which will add up. IDR+ will help cover the bills. If you can make a donation toward her care, please help.
Jane not only needs prayers, but some help with her vet bills. Please consider donating to help IDR with the costs.

Custom Caricature of Your Pet! - Helps Save Dobermans! Doberman Assistance Network

Now this is something really special, I've already placed bids on this, I would really enjoy it and definitely think it is something fun and different.  Best of all, it goes to support doberman's that don't have a home.

CUSTOM CARICATURE OF YOUR PET TO BENEFIT DOBERMAN ASSISTANCE NETWORK

Remember, this will benefit D.A.N. in its continued effort to assist Dobermans in urgent need of rescue. This is a need that never goes away. If anything we have seen an unfortunate uptick in horrific cases as of late. But by bidding on this piece, you will be directly helping D.A.N. continue to fight the good fight.

ONE-OF-A-KIND CARICATURE OF YOUR PET!

The Dobies thank you with wiggly nubs and loving nose pokies!

DOBERMAN ASSISTANCE NETWORK
A TWIST TO THE STUFFY FORMAL DOG PORTRAIT!

Now up for bidding is a twist to the stuffy formal dog portrait.  A unique, FUN and one of a kind work of art of YOUR Doberman created in a caricature style.

"Caricature" has been defined as an exaggerated portrait that distorts the essence of a person or thing to create an easily identifiable visual likeness.
Who would have thunk that caricature can be traced to the likes of Leonardo di Vinci and the aristocratic circles of France and Italy?  So dispatch those art snobs with a wave of your hand who decry cartoony art as not being real art.  Because, art it is...although with a larger degree of freedom to create a fun, entertaining and humorous style.  A caricature will bring a smile to your face, warm your heart and uplift your thoughts with depictions of your Doberman's blatant adorability, comedy, pure beauty and innocence.  A unique and wonderful keepsake of your Doberman to treasure.

Up for bidding is a framed, commissioned Single Canine Caricature of YOUR deserving reprobate by caricature artist John LaFree.  Whether a Doberman or an "off brand" canine, a horse, a cat or even a hamster if you so choose.  John and his wife are passionate animal lovers who work with shelters and rescues to raise funds for homeless animals.  A Single Canine Caricature consists of a custom, full-body and color sketch, hand drawn on 14"x17" premium, solid white smooth bristol 100lb paper using markers, Prismacolor art stix...and a wee bit of magic.  The artist will work from pictures that you have supplied to create a studio quality caricature portrait.  As this is a custom caricature, four weeks will be needed to complete the caricature from the time your pictures are received.

The caricature will be custom matted and framed in a 16"x20" cherry frame.  The width of the frame is approximately 2 1/4" wide.

The custom caricatures shown are samples of the artist's style and are not the final product.
How it works: Once you've won the auction, D.A.N. will contact you to supply the reference photographs and shipping address.  The artist will need at least 3 facial and 3 body photographs of the subject to be drawn.  The more photos the better.  The images you provide will be the only reference the artist will have, so make sure that you send photos that accurately represent your dog.
FOR EXAMPLE: If you want your dog drawn with their ears UP, make sure to send photos of your dog with their ears UP!  Also feel free to include any helpful descriptions, such as confirming the color of their eyes or coat.  Turnaround time for the creation on the custom caricature is approximately four weeks from receipt of your photographs.
This one of a kind custom caricature would make a wonderful gift to either yourself or any animal lover in your life.  Please show your pride and support our magnificent Dobes.
Good luck bidding!

Doberman Assistance Network (DAN) is a 501c3 organization whose mission it is to help provide a second chance to Dobermans in urgent need of rescue throughout the United States.  DAN's services include, but are not limited to, pulling, vetting, transporting, fostering and placing rescued Dobermans into an approved, reputable rescue group. Thanks to the tireless efforts of its volunteers, DAN is able to help Dobermans across America.  With your help, DAN can continue its efforts and give these noble, intelligent and loving dogs the life they all so dearly deserve.

WHO DOES DAN HELP?  MEET ONE OF OUR RECENT CASES:
Poor little Coco.
Coco is a little one year-old Dobie girl picked up as a skinny stray in rural South Carolina and taken to a local shelter.  A shelter volunteer mentioned the sad little Dobie to a friend who then went to the shelter and adopted her.  Two weeks later the volunteers' husband went to the friend's house and saw that poor Coco was even thinner than better and clearly not being taken care of.  He decided on the spot that he was taking her home with him.  With tears in his eyes he picked her up and carried her to his car and took her home with him.  Unfortunately, they already had 5 dogs so they couldn't keep poor little Coco.  The volunteer reached out to D.A.N. for help.

Thanks to D.A.N. and Forever Dobes, Coco is now safe, well taken care and living the life while she awaits her new, loving forever home.

WHO DOES DAN HELP?  MEET ONE OF OUR RECENT CASES:
Meet Pierce!

This handsome sweetheart wasn't so handsome when DAN first met him. He was kept outside his entire life, and being a pale skinned fellow, it did a number on his body. Poor Pierce was badly sunburned and had terribly inflammed and swollen skin. His nose gave evidence to the dirt he was used to living in and his eyesight had never been protected.

We are now happy to report that Pierce is enjoying the life of an indoor dog, and taking to it nicely. He loves lounging in the family room with his people and there isn't a treat or toy that he won't accept with gratitude. Having his face kissed is his favorite thing. Well, maybe it is just behind playing, but is definitely a very close second.

WHO DOES DAN HELP?  MEET ONE OF OUR RECENT CASES:
When her owner no longer had any need for her, darling Olivia found herself dumped at a Maryville, TN shelter.

Olivia quickly charmed the shelter staff with her sweet and outgoing personality. DAN overtook her case and has been boarding her ever since, patiently waiting for an opening with a reputable rescue who could help Olivia find her new, loving forever home.

DAN is currently boarding several dogs like Olivia.

While boarding ensures the dogs are safe and well taken care of, having several dogs in boarding at one time is extremely costly.  DAN is finding its resources being stretched very thin.  Therefore, please consider making a donation today to help DAN continue to care for and keep these Dobes safe until they can be transported to rescues and begin their new lives.

Olivia is one of the lucky ones.  She will be traveling shortly to South West Ohio Doberman Rescue to begin the new chapter of her life.  DAN is overjoyed to have been able to help her, she deserves nothing less than the absolute best in life.
