Jane was adopted from Illinois Doberman Rescue and is now in need of serious medical attention after a reaction to a pain medication used during a spay. IDR is helping to cover the cost of the bills, but it is a lot of money and they have other dogs that need help as well, so please consider donating to help.
Our feisty little plus pup Jane is in critical condition at our vet. Last week, she was spayed and adopted out to a wonderful family. On Friday, Jane licked out her spay stitches, stopped eating, and started vomiting and having diarrhea. Her new parents took her to their vet who put her on antibiotics, wrapped up her belly, and sent her home in a cone to avoid licking her spay incision. By Sunday morning, she was urinating blood clots, her gums went pale, and she crashed. She went to an emergency vet who determined she was having a rare and severe reaction to a pain med given at the time of her spay. The reaction was so severe, the vet wasn’t sure if she would survive the night. Her blood counts were very low, and her liver values were very high. When she was still alive Monday morning, we transferred her to our vet who is continuing to treat her. He gives her a 40% chance at the moment. Her foster moms have been at the vet at her side, and we are all pulling for her. The ER vet bill was almost $1,000 for the one day, and she will be at our vet for several days, which will add up. IDR+ will help cover the bills. If you can make a donation toward her care, please help.DISCLOSURE SOME LINKS INCLUDED IN THIS POST MAY BE AFFILIATE LINKS FOR WHICH I MAY RECEIVE A COMMISSION WHEN YOU CLICK THROUGH THE LINK.
