24PetWatch Microchipping is a scam and a terrible company

So I have a dog that has a Microchip through 24petwatch, when I adopted him from the Shelter they said there were no annual fees or anything that it was all included with his adoption (not like I had a choice he was already chipped).  This was 3 1/2 years ago.

Fast forward to now.  I have been updating my dog's information for 3 1/2 years with no problems.  Now all of a sudden there is a yearly maintenance fee and it was only free for the first 60 days.  Ummm... since when?

When I called to ask about why I couldn't update my dogs's info, because it just said to call (nothing about a renewal or fee due) the guy told me that the fee has been around since 1998 and I just haven't updated my dogs info since the first 60 days.  NOT TRUE.  I just updated to add another phone number earlier this year.  His response well it doesn't appear that way, I just see the initial registration.  This is not true, how do I know this, because when I log in I see an address that I just lived at A YEAR AGO.

I then asked why charge an annual fee, my other dog has a chip that I only paid a lifetime registration fee for. He then called me a liar and said that the info is just not true because he works with microchipping manufacturers and they ALL have annual fees.  I can assure you that Res-Q and Petlink do NOT charge an annual fee.

NONE of his adoption paperwork nor the paperwork after registering with 24PetWatch says anything about a fee.  The only mention of a fee is for the insurance which I have no interest in having shoddy insurance from them... you can get much better deals elsewhere.  The maintenance fee is $17.95 a year PER DOG.  That is ridiculous.  I paid $17 for a lifetime registration for my other dog with no fees for changing your info or anything else.

Needless to say the 24PetWatch Microchip is coming out and a Res-Q one is going in. I refuse to support some shady company that all of a sudden comes up with a fee and feels it's ok to call their customers a liar.
