Secretariat awarded Preakness record after 39 years

Secretariat won the Preakness Stakes 39 years ago, but it wasn't until now that he had the record for the fastest time for the Preakness.  That was due to a malfunction in the timer that clocks the race.  It had him clocked at 1:54 2/5.

After a hearing Friday, the Maryland Racing Commission changed his win time to 1:53.  Secretariat now holds the records in all 3 of the triple crown races he won.
