Evan Longoria, the Tampa Bay Rays, and Bright House Networks are teaming up with Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St Petersburg, FL (for those of you that don't know, the Rays actually play in St. Pete, not Tampa). For every home run Longoria hits they will donate $100 to the shelter. Longoria hit 31 home runs during the 2011 season and he has only hit 4 home runs this season, not that he has been playing lately. HydroDog Mobile is also going to be donating and will match the donation made by the Rays.
Unfortunately, Longoria is on the disabled list due to a hamstring injury but they are hoping he will be able to resume baseball activities in a week.
